Yes. I am back. After being away from the net for a week, I finally decided to go online. Actually, I just took my second Math 54 exam this morning and I needed a break from all the studying/integrating. And I don't want to think about the probable mistakes that I committed during the exam. Mababaliw lang ako. Ha. :)

Last week, my dad's sisters (my aunts) and Ate Diane came here from Pangasinan because they attended Kuya Lem's graduation. Yep. Graduate na si Kuya Lem at cum laude siya. :) *cheers* Mahusay! :) There were in total 10 students who graduated summa cum laude. And I was stunned to hear that one of those summa cum laudes came from the College of Engineering. Grabe. ECE pa. :) Two were MBB majors, actually. HAHA. :) But the university valedictorian was a MATH major and her GWA is a whopping 1.13. WHOA! Iba talaga ang mga isko at iska! Right now, my parents are in a sense pressuring me to also try to achieve that feat. First year pa lang ako... Hay. Baka maloka ako nito. :D

Christian's Colour Everywhere concert was aired on ABS last Sunday. Haha. He can't dance yet when he does, he becomes more endearing. Ang dorky kasi ng dating. Haha. :) And for the nth time, Rachelle Ann and Christian don't have chemistry whatsoever when they sing. Har. This may sound like a bitter comment but it's true. Wala kang maramdaman habang kumakanta sila. Erk. Di nakakakilig kahit na sobrang lapit na nila sa isa't isa. Bitter. Labo. :) [I read somewhere in Tania's tabulas that Filipinos possess a culture of imitation. This is in fact manifest in today's music industry. When you watch Filipino singing contests on TV, you would always hear contestants rendering a Mariah Carey or a Celine Dion hit. And what's more depressing is the fact that the judges of such competitions praise singers who sing exactly the same as Celine or Whitney or Mariah. We came never be like them so the most logical thing to do is to try to create our own style and music.]

Took the first Math 54 exam on Monday afternoon. After my 7-10 class, I went to Katipunan by myself to study. Atom Araullo was in the same jeep that I was in on my way to McDo. Ha. :) He was a few seats away from me and I can't help but look. Ang cute niya kasi. Haha. When he sort of turned toward my direction, I think he caught me looking at him. HAHAHAHAHA. Nakakahiya. :) Anyhow, I had lunch at McDo and I studied there until 230 PM. *Ang daming cute sa McDo ngayong summer. :p* Before going back to UP, I went to NBS to buy pencils and a pen. On my way, I saw him. I said hi and he smiled and he tripped. Ha. :p Ang cute mo...... :) So, took the exam from 3-5 in the afternoon. It was so friggin' hot and I wasn't able to answer correctly the last two problems. Erk. Sayang!!! :p

I didn't take a cab home on Tuesday and Wednesday. YEY! :) But Wednesday, I took the wrong tricycle to BPI. Di kasi ako dumaan sa may BF. Drat. I was in this semi-squatters area and when the driver was about to go back, he hit a cab. Napatagal pa ko lalo dun kaya naglakad ako. Adventure ba ito? :) Erk. Lesson learned: Bumaba sa Sandiganbayan. Ha! :)

I had piano class on Thursday. Even though I try to practice at home, it seems as if I don't improve in class. My teacher makes me nervous. Pano ba naman kasi kakabasa mo pa lang mabilis na agad dapat ang pagtugtog? Di ako ganun ka advance. Hay.

Constantine Maroulis was eliminated on Thursday. I'm still surprised at the results. Scott at the top 3 with Bo and Carrie? Erk. He should've been sent home weeks ago. Although his voice is pleasant, he has no charisma. He doesn't dress nicely. He's not Idol material. Mga Amerikano talaga!

Studied for most of the day yesterday. Ha. Labo. I also saw Tanya and Cox, and the three of us went to Mellow's place for lunch. I missed being with these people. :) Watched Game KNB? on television and Kris Aquino has huge boobs. Unrelated siya sa akin pero noteworthy lang talaga. Haha. Cox, Mellow, and I had lunch at World Chicken . Tanya wasn't able to join us because she had 1 pm class. Anywho, we saw Paola, Mia, and Kara at World Chicken. The food was utterly expensive. The pizza that we ordered was thinner than a piece of Sky Flakes and it costs 229 Php. Sana Sky Flakes na nga lang ginamit nila. I don't think we will eating there for a while. Ha. :) After lunch, we went to Ice Monster for dessert. It feels great to be with Mellow and Cox. Namiss ko yung mga Mean Girl sessions namin. Sayang wala si Debra! When we finished our dessert, I went back to UP and they went to Mellow's house for band practice. I had to go back to school because we had a review before the second exam. Honestly, I think integration is quite fun once you get the hang of it. :) NERD.

Hay. Salamat at tapos na ang exam. Magpapahinga muna ko bago mag aral ulit. :)

Shiver
Coldplay

I looked in your direction,
But you paid me no attention, do you.
I know you don't listen to me.
'cause you say you see straight me, don't you.

On and on from the moment I wake,
To the moment I sleep,
I'll be there by your side,
Just you try and stop me,
I'll be waiting in line,
Just to see if you care.

Did she (he) want me to change?
But I change for good.
And I want you to know
.
But you always get your way,
I wanted to say,

Don't you Shiver? Shiver, Shiver

I'll always be waiting for you,
So you know how much I need ya,
But you never even see me, do you?

And this is my final chance of getting you.

On and on from the moment I wake....
Did she want me to change?...

Sing it loud and clear
I'll always be waiting for you.
Yeah I'll always be waiting for you.

And it's you I see, but you don't see me.
And it's you I hear, so loud and clear.

I sing it loud and clear.
And I'll always be waiting for you,.

So I look in your direction,
But you pay me no attention,
And you know how much I need you,
But you never even seen me.

Got this song from Tania's tabulas. :)

Hmm... Mas pipiliin niyo bang matanggihan o wag na lang mapansin? Parang mas masakit yung di ka papansinin? Parang wala ka lang...

In a very difficult, complex time where there are challenges of traditional moral values that are very commonplace in our world, he really has been a kind of a rock of Gibraltar, so to speak -- a really solid foundation as we look to the future. Bishop William Skylstad, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops on Pope Benedict XVI

Yesterday, the college of cardinals elected Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger of Germany Pope of the Roman Catholic Church. He chose the name Benedict XVI because I think one of the goals of his papacy is to forge peace and unity within the Church. The announcement came as a surprise for me since I was in my Math 54 summer class when our instructor mentioned that the Catholics have a new Pope in the person of Cardinal Ratzinger. Hmm.. Ok lang naman sa kin siya kasi mukha naman siyang ok nung nag homily siya nung funeral mass ni Pope John Paul II. A number of people on the other hand, were quite disappointed with the choice because Ratzinger was very much known because of his being conservative and traditional. He was a strict enforcer of Church doctrine under Pope John Paul II that many groups of Christian liberals think that his papacy will be divisive and that more Catholics will stop going to Church especially in Europe and the United States. Some others think that Cardinal Ratzinger is an excellent choice because he is a great theologian and pastor. :) Let's give Pope Benedict XVI a shot. This is going to be a difficult task and he's going to need all the support that we can give him. :)

Anwar was voted off Idol today. The elimination didn't come as a shock since I felt yesterday that he was going. America loves Constantine and Carrie. It's a long shot for the rest of the Idols. Pero tignan natin... :) Baka mag iba ang ikot ng mundo. *Do you remember.... Na na na... Dancing in September. Tama ba? :p* And Lynn and Alex got eliminated in the Amazing Race. Rob and Amber also got married last Saturday. Wala lang. :) Mga balita. HAHA!

So.... I've been away since last week. I got sick from Wednesday up to Sunday. I'm still having the colds and the cough but I don't have fever anymore. Last Wednesday, went to school to get my grades and Ben came to our house. Thursday, went to school again to enlist classes. Got a 7 AM Math 54 class. HA. :) Friday, stayed at home to rest then went to Den's debut. Whoa! Ang ganda ni Den. :) Saw April and the rest of my classmates. :p On Saturday, I was bed ridden most of the day because had a relapse. Grr... Lagnatin na sipunin pa. Stayed in bed on Sunday and slept. Waaah... :) Ayoko nang magkasakit!!!

Summer classes started on Monday. Erk. Medyo terror yung teacher. Terror magpa exam. Manjo? Manjologs? Napanaginipan ko nga yung pangalan niya eh. The pace is killing me right now. Para kong nilulunod at inaalon... Help me. Someone help me...

Just got home from my piano lessons. I miss the piano. Learning new pieces and a sonatina by Clementi. Excited!!! Practice. Practice. Practice. :)

Better start studying... Math... Calculus.... Oh no. :)

Pope Benedict XVI [He doesn't have the same teddy bear cuteness as Pope John Paul II but the new pope is cute in a very lolo way. :)] Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger Being an adult means having a faith which does not follow the waves of today's fashions or the latest novelties. A faith which is deeply rooted in friendship with Christ is adult and mature.

Some random thoughts and activities.

Went to Makati yesterday with my sisters to appear before the DFA. Ngayon lang kami magkakapassport. Loserdom. :) Ang init ng panahon tas nung pabalik na kaming Makati (sa Pasay kasi yung DFA) yung sinakyan naming taxi ay amoy gas. Suffocation? Hay. Went to Glorietta afterwards. We bought bread from Bread Talk. They don't sell cheap bread. Hehe. :) Had lunch at Mexicali. Was so full afterwards. Then, my sisters and I watched The Pacifier. Parang ewan si Vin Diesel. Was laughing loudly during most of the film but the plot was predictable. Ang cute ni Seth! After the movie, we looked around the mall. I bought a pair of earrings. Yun lang. Ha. It's so frustrating to look around and not have money. At around 4 pm, we went to see our parents and we ate merienda at Chef D'Angelo. Went home after.

Last Friday, Ming, Jolina, and I went to UP to enroll for music classes. Will be playing the piano again. Yey! We had lunch at Shakey's Katipunan. The service was bad. Erk. Then, we went to Miriam because Ming had to claim her graduation VCD. Saw Sir F. We then proceeded to the College of Science (in UP) because I was supposed to get the pictures taken during the recognition of college and university scholars. Wala pa rin. Went to Chem to check my Chem 26.1 grade. Wala pa rin. Malas talaga. Went home. Haha.

Tiger won the Masters last Sunday. It's his 9th major. Idol. Woohoo.

Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles wed last Saturday. Gwapo ni Prince Harry.

Nikko Smith was eliminated last Thursday. Dapat si Scott! Grrr.... Go Anwar pa rin!

And... Belated Happy 17th MIOX. Wahahahahahahahaha. :D Going to Den's debut on Friday. Advanced Happy 18th Denise! :)

Hmm.. Do you ever feel like you're someone with a sign stuck on your head that says Ignore me?

Pope John Paul II was laid to rest last Friday, April 8 at the grotto beneath St. Peter's Basilica. A large of people were present at the mass before the funeral itself and they were expressing how much they wanted the Pope to be made saint immediately. Leaders from different walks of faith and from different countries were also there to commemmorate the Pope's life and legacy. It's remarkable how these men and women who have different even contradicting beliefs and ideals with Pope come together in his honor. Aside from those who were shouting and celebrating, there were those who were crying and still mourning over John Paul's death.

Anyhow, the Eucharist was celebrated by the Dean of the College of Cardinals, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger. I was listening to the Gospel and it's just appropriate for the Pope's life. The main theme of the Word of God was to Follow Christ, and I think that was what Pope John Paul II strived for during his time here. I fell asleep just before the Communion and I wasn't able to witness the different leaders make the sign of peace. Our parish priest said during his Sunday homily that President Bush shook hands with President Talabani of Iraq. The Syrian and Israel leaders also shook hands, which was unprecendented I think. It was a good thing I woke up just before the Pope's coffin was brought inside St. Peter's. That's the last time we're ever going to see the Pope's body in a sense. *sigh*

Hmm... After dinner, I tuned in to CNN to watch more of the Pope's funeral. They showed this piece about the Vatican's official photographer and his relationship with the Pope. Ha. I cried when they showed picture of the Pope's deteriorating health. I cried more when the photographer mentioned that just a few hours before the Pope died, he was called to his bed and the Pope said, Thank you Arturo. Thank you. :)

So, I will sort of retire temporarily from writing stuff about the Pope. Will resume when the Conclave of Cardinals commences next week. :)

DEATHWATCH
By: Conrado de Quiros
PDI April 04, 2005

The cries of grief pour on. Jaime Cardinal Sin: (Let us) seek the Lord's guidance and strength at this difficult time. Let us entrust our Holy Father to the Lord of Life. Gaudencio Rosales, Archbishop of Manila: Let us be one in the spirit or prayer for his health, at this particular need of the Holy Father. Bishop Hernando Coronel, CBCP secretary general: We, Filipinos, have a very special place in the Holy Father's heart. Let us show our deep love for him and for the Church he has generously guided and served.

And Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, (putative) President of the Philippines: We really are grateful to the Lord that through all these many, many, years He gave us the wonderful leadership of the Pope in our Church.

Well, if I remember right, there's a passage in the Bible where Jesus Christ says, Not all who say, 'Lord! Lord!' will enter his kingdom. Or less metaphorically, those who worship God in word, but not in deed, won't get past St. Peter.

It’s the same thing here. I don’t know why the princes of our Church and the queen of our State are wailing to high heavens and saying all these things. As things are, they should really be saying the opposite, which is that they are not entirely loath that God is summoning the current Pope unto His bosom. Or as a sign I once saw in a picker line out it, Sana kunin ka na ni Lord.

Why should our leaders grieve over the pope’s death? They’ve never heeded his words anyway. They’ve never followed his example anyway. They’ve never shown their love for him by living in the light of his spirit anyway. They’ve gone against the most central tenets of his teachings anyway. They’ve listened more to the words of John, Paul, George and Bush than to John Paul II’s.

The Pope has vehemently opposed the American occupation of Iraq, a position taken by the UN and much of the world. That war, he warned, would be a defeat for all humanity, an atrocity that could neither be justified morally nor legally. When war, as in these days in Iraq, threatens the fate of humanity, it is ever more urgent to proclaim, with a strong and decisive voice, that only peace is the road to follow to construct a more just and united society. Indeed, as Mark and Louise Zwick reported, John Paul II sent his personal representative, Cardinal Pio Laghi, a friend of the Bush family, to remonstrate with the US President before the war began. The message: God is not on your side if you invade Iraq.

Yet, all our government has done is to follow George W. Bush instead. And our Church has been silent in the face of it. GMA's message does not apply to the Pope, it applies to the Dope: We really are grateful to the Lord that through all these many, many, years, he gave us the wonderful leadership of George W. The rest of us may only be sorely ungrateful George W's Maker is not ardently claiming him at this very moment-it's hard to say, summoning him to his bosom, that lump of clay couldn't have come from it.

The Pope has vehemently opposed the kind of globalization being aggressively fomented by the North. In the process of world globalization, the gap between rich and poor countries is ever greater. In the face of populations that live in conditions of unacceptable misery, in the face of those who are in situations of hunger, poverty and growing social inequalities, it is urgent to intervene to safeguard the dignity of the person and to foster the promotion of the common good. Instead, the Pope has espoused real globalization in these terms: The challenge is to give life to a solidaristic globalization, identifying the causes of economic and social imbalances and presenting operative options capable of ensuring a future of solidarity and hope for all.

Yet all our government has done is to be a mouthpiece of the WTO. And our Church has been silent in the face of it.

The Pope has vehemently opposed the rending of the world into Armageddon, where You are with us or against us, and has reached out instead to peoples of all faiths and beliefs by appealing to a common humanity and destiny. He is the one Pope to have gone to Jerusalem and sought to bring peace to Jews and Arabs, he is the one Pope to have set foot on a mosque, he is the one Pope to have apologized deeply for the atrocities wreaked by the Church throughout the centuries.

Yet all our government has done is to echo George W's division of the world into those for him and against him, and to talk of smiting God's enemies who are pretty much the Moros of the South. And the Church has been silent in the face of it.

And last, but most importantly, the Pope has championed morality in life. Not the kind of morality that has people going to Mass and sobbing at the impending death of their religious amo, but the kind of morality that has people respecting differences, showing tolerance for dissent, showing goodwill toward each other. Not the kind of morality that is advertised, but the kind of morality that is lived. Pope John Paul II has been called the "Pope of the New Millennium" for more reasons than that his life and term have straddled the 21st century. He has been called so because he has driven the Church right into it. He has made it a force not just in world affairs but in our individual lives. He has plucked right and wrong, good and evil, decency and obscenity from the realm of personal piety to the realm of living with one another on this lonely planet. Truly, the world-Christians and non-Christians, kings and paupers, devout and secular-has every reason to mourn his passing.

Yet, Jose Pidal still has to know how to spell the word "honesty."

The Pope does have a special place for Filipinos in his heart. The question is: Do we have a special place for him in ours?

Remembering Our Pope::
posted by Andoi @ 7:54 PM

While waiting for the Mass to start last Sunday, the commentator mentioned something about praying for the soul of Pope John Paul II. I was stunned to hear the news because although I knew that the Pope was in a serious state, I wasn't ready for him to die. Because I wasn't anticipating his death, hearing the news got me teary-eyed... Ewan ko ba. I didn't care much about his work when he was alive. And now that the Pope's dead, I keep on tuning in to CNN to take note of the events surrounding his death. Talagang natatanto mo lang yung halaga ng isang tao pag wala na siya.

Because I am now an avid viewer of CNN (Heehee. :p), I've learned how influential the late Pope has become. Many credit him for the fall of communism in Poland. He initiated dialogues with the Jews, Muslims, and those associated with other religions. He spoke against homosexuality, abortion, the use of contraceptives, and the ordination of women priests. He very much expressed his love of children and of humanity. He made numerous efforts to bring the Vatican and the Church all over the world as he was the most traveled Pope visiting more that 120 countries in his 26-year papacy. Although he alienated groups of women and the like because of his traditional and conservative views, he was well-loved and well-received by the whole world. Even if I wasn't able to meet him in person, watching footages of his life and death on television moves me to tears. (Lalo na nung Easter Sunday at sinubukan niyang magsalita sa harap ng napakaraming tao kahit mahirap at kahit wala na siyang boses...) And now, we won't be able to witness his smile, his blessings, his speeches... After Friday, we will only be left with his snapshots, his videos, his poems, his memory, his legacy. In spite of all this mourning, we have to be wary of the future. We have to figure out what's wrong with the Church and how is it going to address the concerns of our changing world. But for now, we will mourn his passing. We will celebrate his life. We will thank God for giving us this man of wisdom, of determination, of grace, of truth, of hope, of love.

Waha! I keep posting song lyrics from Idol. Pasensya na lang kayo. :D

I Can't Make You Love Me
George Michael

Turn Down The Light/ Turn down the bed/ Turn down these voices inside my head/ Lay down with me/ Tell me no lies/ Just hold me close/ Don't patronise/ Don't patronise

'Cause i can't make you love me if you don't/ You can't make your heart feel something that it won't/ Here in the dark in these final hours/ I will lay down my heart/ And i feel the power/ But you won't, no you won't

'Cause i can't make you love me if you don't/ I'll close my eyes, then i won't see/ The love you don't feel when you're holding me/ Mornin' will come and i'll do what's right/ Just give me till then to give up this fight/ And i will give up this fight

I Think I Love You

I'm sleeping/ And right in the middle of a good dream/ Like all at once I wake up/ From something that keeps knocking at my brain/ Before I go insane/ I hold my pillow to my head/ And spring up in my bed/ Screaming out the words I dread:/ I think I love you!

This morning, I woke up with this feeling/ I didn't know how to deal with/ And so I just decided to myself/ I'd hide it to myself / And never talk about it/ And didn't I go and shout it/ When you walked into my room

I think I love you/ So what am I so afraid of?/ I'm afraid that I'm not sure of/ A love there is no cure for/ I think I love you/ Isn't that what life is made of?/ Though it worries me to say/ I've never felt this way

Believe me/ You really don't have to worry/ I only want to make you happy/ And if you say,/ hey, go away, I will/ But I think better still/ I ought to stay around and love you

Do you think I have a case?/ Let me ask you to your face:/ Do you think you love me?/ I think I love you!

On the Side of Angels
LeAnn Rimes

I've never been so certain, I've never been sure./ We're on the side of angels,/ If we believe this love is pure.

Is it so hard to trust it,/ 'Cause we've been wrong before?/ There comes a time in every life,/ We find the heart we're waiting for.

After all the might-have-beens,/ The close and distant calls/ After all the try-agains,/ Don't be afraid to fall/ We're on the side of angels after all.

Every time you touch me,/ Don't you feel it too?/ The gentle hand that's guiding us/ You to me, me to you

After all the might-have-beens,/ The close and distant calls/ After all the try-agains,/ Don't be afraid to fall/ We're on the side of angels after all.

Heaven only knows/ Why this took so long/ But only Heaven knows/ A love is right or wrong

After all the might-have-beens,/ The close and distant calls/ After all the try-agains,/ Don't be afraid to fall/ We're on the side of angels,/ On the side of angels,/ On the side of angels, after all.

I had my sister change my layout. Ha. Tapos na yung bitterness stage ng blog ko. :D The change is timely since today's the start of a new month. April na! Haha. Labo. ;) Anyhow, I got the idea from the Adidas Impossible is nothing. campaign. The quote is from the ad. I didn't make it up or anyhting. Heehee. I very much like the message that the ad conveys. Nothing is impossible. Di imposibleng maging kampyeon ka. Di imposibleng makaimbento ka ng bagong bagay. Di imposibleng mapansin ka ng crush mo. HAHA. Di imposibleng gumanda ka. Posible lahat! Maniwala ka lang at pagtrabahuhan mo yung nais mo. :)

[News] I just heard that the Pope is in a very grave condition. He suffered from a cardio-circulatory collapse and a urinary tract infection. It's sad to hear that the Pope is going through these tough times. The whole world is praying for his recovery. I really hope he gets well... And Terri Schiavo died yesterday after her feeding tube was removed. Grabe. 15 years living off a tube. Hmm.. I don't know if that's the right thing to do. Kung wala na talagang pag asa para mapabuti yung kalagayan niya, baka tama nga yung desisyon ng asawa niya. Bakit nga ba ko nakikialam? :)

[Idol] Yesterday, Jessica Siera got voted off Idol. Although she gave a so-so 'performance two days ago, I think she shouldn't have been voted off. Scott and Anthony's performances were less impressive than hers. And Anwar was the second lowest vote getter. Crap. I was so friggin' nervous. :p I hope he does well next week. *Nikko's rendition of Can We Talk by Code Red was my favorite performance of the night. Haha. I had a crush on some of the members of the band. HAHAHAHA. Jologs ko talaga. :)*

Erk. I took the Math finals last Wednesday. Was so frustrated with the exam. Erk. I'm just hoping that I get the required grade to get a one. Hahahaha. :) Umaasa pa ko. :p I also saw Sir Sirius Black on the day of the exam. He asked me something about my Math 17 classmate. Gawd. I still have a crush on him. Bwaha. :p I'm going back to school on Monday to see my grades. Magdadasal na ko. :p And Cox and I had lunch after the finals. I miss hanging out with her. :)

I've been bumming around at home now that I don't have school. I'm trying to lose a few pounds this summer so that I will have an easier time buying jeans. I have unbelievably huge hips. Ha. Work out!!! :D

One of my father's friends gave him a puppy and he brought it home last Wednesday. My sisters named her Dory and then later changed it to Pepper. :) We're all excited because this is the first dog that we actually have to take care of. Ming's already attached to Pepper. HA! :) Bagay silang magkasama. :p I hope my mom let's Pepper come inside our house. She likes plants a lot but when it comes to dogs, I don't know...

Happy 18th birthday to Aika! :p God bless! :)
